A 4-day course reviewing basic sampling and research principles with more in-depth treatment of the practical application of three of the five following topics: systematic sampling, stratified sampling, cluster sampling, stratified cluster sampling, missing data and compensation through weights and imputation.
Prerequisite: course work or experience using statistical descriptive and linear regression models

This is a four-day course introducing concepts of program evaluation for researchers and policy practitioners. Participants will learn how to:
Identify program goals, target populations, stakeholders and intended and unintended consequences
Differentiate between process and outcome studies
Specify program models and accompanying assumptions
Isolate and identify causal relationships in research design
Recognize, create, and critique appropriate research designs and evaluate alternatives
Identify measurement issues that arise
